Cross Training Your Dog For Performance Events: Cross training refers to educating a dog in more than one venue at a time. An example of this would be teaching a dog to gait and stack for the conformation ring while at the same time, taking classes in obedience and agility.

Can dogs learn multiple things at once? What are the advantages and disadvantages of teaching more than one sport at a time? How do you keep commands unique and avoid confusion? Does the order in which you teach things matter? Having trained many different breeds of dogs in a variety of canine performance events concurrently, I now have a better idea of what to expect from cross training.
