Hi! I want to thank Dog Sport Magazine for the opportunity to introduce you to GoPetFriendly.com – a website for people that prefer to travel with their pets.
We launched GoPetFriendly.com in June 2009, to make it easy for our users to enjoy extraordinary travel experiences with their pets. We believe it should be simple to include our pets in all of our leisure activities, however, we found this was not always the case when we were traveling.
It had become quite a hassle to find places to stay that were acceptable to us and would both accommodate and welcome our two large dogs. Finding restaurants and activities that the whole “pack” could enjoy together was another challenge. Some information was out there, but it was spread out all over the Internet, or required us to buy a book for each new destination. Rather than give up on the idea of “family” vacations, we chose to develop a resource that takes planning a trip with your pet to the next level.
GoPetFriendly.com is free to use and provides detailed pet policies for nearly 30,000 hotels and campgrounds in the US and Canada, giving you the ability to search for accommodations that suit you, whether you are traveling with multiple pets, need a place that accept cats, or are looking for hotels that welcome large dogs. And, when you arrive at your destination, you’ll find that getting out will be fun for everyone when you use our directory of thousands of pet-friendly activities, attractions, restaurants, and service providers.
We’ve even made planning a road trip a breeze with our Road Trip Planner, which plots your waypoints on a map, identifies pet friendly hotels and campgrounds along your route, and provides you with driving directions.
Our goal is to connect people who love their pets with businesses that will make their travel experiences exceptional. We hope that by making it easy for people to travel with their pets, we become a visible and desirable market niche, and encourage more businesses to “GoPetFriendly.”
